Like most charities, Open Road has an extremely diverse target audience and were struggling to reach out to the wide variety of individuals, families and communities that use their services.
But it's not only the people affected directly by misuse of drugs and alcohol that the client has to consider – Open Road also has to appeal to current and potential volunteers and supporters of the charity.
Although deadlines were tight for the project, we ensured that time was spent getting to understand Open Road’s target audience before we set about designing and building the website.
During this period of consultation it also became clear that the client would need to be in control of updating certain content within the website on a regular basis so this also had to be considered.
The end result was a visually striking, simple to navigate web presence built with the scope to develop over time very much in mind.
The design was coupled with back-end functionality that enables the client to link with social media, update content, post news and also gives the ability to manage a staff login area for internal communications.
